When burning for the first time, allow it to burn for 2 to 3 hours, until the top layer of the wax has completely melted. This prevents the wax from tunneling through the wax. After the first burn, do not let it burn for more than 3 hours at a time. 

Trim wick to 1/4 inch before lighting to prevent smoke or tunneling. Keep away from drafts, as this will prevent your candle from burning evenly.
